Best Practice Description :

  1. Test team attends requirement meetings, validates requirements at time of collection.
  2. Test team signs off on requirements, stating that they understand requirements.
  3. Test team writes test plan which is signed off by team sponsors.
  4. Test team creates a flow graph to determine test cases. This occurs during design so that errors in the design can be corrected before deployment.
  5. Test cases are created and reviewed by development.
  6. Test cases are executed and execution and results are documented.
  7. Test summary is written and submitted to team for review and sign off.
  8. Metrics for defects found in test and in production are kept and reported.

We run multiple teams for different software projects. By following the above processes, several of our teams have a success rate of 95% or higher.

An auditor reviews projects to ensure that all steps are taken and all expected deliverables are in place.
